My Story

Ian.

I followed in my Father and Brothers footsteps, I joined the Royal Air Force in 1984 and served 12 years, I loved every minute of my time in the forces, its a very close family. Although I never served in any conflict directly i was privileged enough to take part in the research for the Gulf war at the IAM Farnborough.I also did a tour of the Falklands which was amazing.

Since leaving the RAF in 1997 I have done several fundraising activities for various Forces related charities and feel strongly that these charities need all the help they can get.

In 2018 i was lucky enough to take part in the Rally For Heroes event, it was truly an amazing experience, the memories will stay with me till the day i die. I am honoured to be able to repeat this in 2020 for the final run, and continue raising money for SSAFA that do an amazing job for both Ex members of the forces and families as well as serving personnel.

Ben.

I am the nephew of JC and Jo. I have followed their adventures over the last three rallies, hoping one day to share the experience of Europe's greatest roads to raise money for a great charity.

The Cordery's have all long been addicted to the smell of petrol and oil, and i am no different. I love cars and have done since my first memories. I own an MK Indy R kit car fitted with a Yamaha R1 super bike engine. Although this is fun and fast on the country roads, it is not exactly made for touring and Autobahns.

I have no military background myself, but i do have family and friends who have served. I see the changes in these people after tours, and they are the lucky ones. The work SSAFA does for servicemen, veterans and their families is incredible, I feel honoured to be out raising money for them to continue their exceptional work.
