Rally For Heroes 2022 "The Final Run"
Carl & Karen Kilbey
My Story
We are driving our second rally on behalf of Deranged Vehicles who are one the sponsors of the Collins Aerospace Rally For Heroes 2022
I have seen the impact on one our friends in the Royal Engineers, was being transported on RFA Sir Galahad on route to the Falklands, when he was badly burnt during it's bombing 40 years ago.
SSAFA Charity (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) started in 1885
The charity provide a lifetime of help and support for any servicemen and women also the families of those Heroes that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
We will be driving 5 miles for the 457 service personnel lost since the start of the Afghan conflict, 50 cars will cross 9 countries in just 10 days.
This Rally takes us on an road trip of around 3,5000 miles, starting at;
Day 1: Euro Tunnel driving through France and Belgium and onto Cologne (Germany).
Day 2: Cologne to Prague (Czechoslovakia)
Day 3: Prague to Bratislava (Slovakia)
Day 4: Bratislavia to Budapest (Hungary)
Day 5: Rest day.
Then we'll be driving through some of the highest mountain Alps passes for the next part.
Day 6: Budapest to Saltzburg ( Austria)
Day 7: Saltzburg to Trento (Italy)
Day 8: Trento to Stelvio Pass to Davos (Switzerland)
Day 9: Davos to Gotthard Pass to Chamonix (France)
Day 10: Chamonix to the Finish in Chantilly (France)
All costs are paid by the participants of the event so that every penny raised goes to SSAFA helping veterans and service families get back on track.
